Dimitri Likissas is an accomplished painter and sculptor from Greece who has exhibited his work across the world. The central element of his work is a pattern of separated, colored, round dots whereby an image becomes visible depending on the viewer's distance to the work. His principal technique is oil paint on canvas, and his signature style is minimalist but layered. Dimitri’s work stems from a long tradition of using distinct dots of color in art, which the viewer’s mind blends together to create the final image. Playing with chromatic tonality and the dissection of visual planes, Dimitri creates works that seem to move and undulate within the canvas as if attempting to escape their two dimensional confines.
