Inspired by pop artists, pin-up illustrators, Pirelli and Playboy calendars, as well as great photographers - Cecile is focused on pop culture representations of sexy women and how they have evolved over time. She focuses on the incendiary relationship between women as objects of violent desire, and the obligation to live in a controlled society. A prominent character in many of her works is the Barbie doll - iconic and universally recognizable, it is reflective of how societal expectations are placed on women from a young age.
